At Toyota, we don’t cut corners, we leave no stone unturned, we leave nothing to chance. This serves to explain how and why the Toyota Camry has been one of the best-selling cars in North America for decades. Every generation of the Camry has set the tone for the entire midsize segment and Toyota’s at it again.
The eighth-generation Toyota Camry launched for the 2018 model year and with it came a series of upgrades, new design, technology and driving pleasure. On the latter point, the new Toyota Camry has hit new heights thanks to it now being assembled on the Toyota New Global Architecture or TNGA.
Not only does this platform strengthen the bond between the driver, the car and the road but its incredible rigidity has made this generation Camry the quietest, most refined ever. And that’s not all. For the first time since 1991, the 2020 Camry will be offered with all-wheel drive (AWD) as a standalone option on the LE, XLE, SE, and XSE trims. The option will be available on the 202-horsepower 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine (205-horsepower with the Camry XSE).
The AWD system for the new 2020 Toyota Camry is sourced from the Toyota RAV4. As such, it features Toyota’s Dynamic Torque Control AWD system which disconnects the rear differential to save fuel when the extra traction and grip provided by the AWD is not required.
As always, the 2020 Toyota Camry is delivered with an extensive series of standard features including Connected Services by Toyota which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto accessible through a 7-inch touchscreen display (8-inch available), heated front seats, and much more. The Camry’s cabin is a vast, perfectly serene place to spend many an hour enjoying the open road.
The Camry is offered in two distinct personalities to fit your own. The “L” and “XLE” cars are distinguished and elegant. Those who are slightly more extrovert will love our sporty “S” and “XSE” trims with larger wheels, sport front and rear fascia, and more.
Finally, we have the 2020 Toyota Camry Hybrid. Loaded with all the features expected in a premium sedan, the Hybrid is, above all, extremely efficient. The 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder with Hybrid Synergy Drive delivers a surprising 208- system horsepower all the while consuming a combined 4.9L/100km.
The Toyota Camry has always been the one sedan for carefree driving. The new 2020 edition continues to deliver on this, and far more. How’s that for absolute domination?
