The brand-new 2023 Toyota Prius Prime was introduced to the market last year and is just about to arrive with significantly improved efficiency, enhanced technology and features, more all-electric range, better performance, and so much more. Here are five things to know about the brand-new 2023 Toyota Prius Prime.
It will offer 72 km of all-electric range
Thanks to a larger 13.6-kWh battery paired with the latest generation Toyota hybrid system, the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime will deliver 72 km of all-electric range. This is an increase of over 80% more electric range than the last generation Prius Prime. It will allow owners to complete 90%, if not all, of their daily commute without needing a single drop of fuel. Think of the savings at the end of the year if you aren't needing to refuel your vehicle for your commute.
It delivers better performance and better efficiency
The 2023 Toyota Prius Prime gets more powerful engines, whether we're talking about the gas-powered motor or the electric motor. The reliable four-cylinder powertrain that serves as the gas component delivers 150 hp, which is already more than what the combined hybrid system offered in the last Prius. The new electric motor is also more powerful, and the total combined output of the new Prius Prime is now 220 hp, 100 more than the previous generation. Better yet, despite its improved performance, this powertrain delivers an average fuel economy rating of just 4.5 L per 100 km.
A more spacious interior
The 2023 Toyota Prius Prime has grown both in passenger space and cargo space. The new Prius Prime features over 600 litres of cargo capacity, quite a bit more than the last Prius, which was already quite spacious. Unlike other hybrid vehicles, the larger battery in the Prius Prime does not compromise cargo space or passenger space.
A redesigned interior with more technology
The new Toyota Prius Prime gets a redesigned interior featuring more technology, including the latest generation Toyota multimedia system. This latest infotainment system from Toyota features a wide range of advanced connectivity features including voice command capability that allows you to adjust various functions using natural language. You can also ask for assistance with your destination by using Destination Assist and be connected to a live agent who will always be able to help. Combine this with a wide range of connected services that give you quite a bit of control over your Prius Prime using a mobile app, and you have one of the most connected plug-in hybrid vehicles in the world.
Exceptional safety
The 2023 Toyota Prius Prime gets the latest generation Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of active safety technologies. This suite of driver assistance technologies features the latest in active safety with advanced features such as Traffic Jam Assist, Automatic Braking for pedestrians and cyclists, Intersection Emergency Braking, Lane Trace Assist which can slow down your Prius Prime when you're going around corners to keep you at the right speed, and more.
