Toyota proceeded to the unveiling of the all-new 2023 Toyota Sequoia full-size SUV, the latest generation of Toyota's largest, most luxurious, and most powerful sport utility vehicle. This latest generation of the Sequoia is better in every possible way, offering more towing capability, more power from a standard hybrid engine, and more versions including the ultra-luxurious Capstone model.
A powerful i-FORCE MAX hybrid engine
The 2023 Toyota Sequoia is powered by a powerful twin-turbo V6 hybrid powertrain which is also found on the Toyota Tundra. Called the i-FORCE MAX engine, it delivers 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. This engine will allow the new generation of the Toyota Sequoia to tow up to 9000 pounds. In other words, the new Toyota full-size sport-utility vehicle will have all the power that you are looking for in this type of vehicle. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive is obviously a standard.
That said, the Sequoia has always been a very capable off-road vehicle, and the new Sequoia will preserve that reputation with its modern body-on-frame chassis and a fully boxed frame that it shares with the Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The new Toyota Sequoia will have no issues going far off the beaten path. It features advanced technologies such as an air suspension which allows you to raise the chassis, and an adaptive variable suspension that will adjust to the road ahead.
Advanced versatility and safety in the 2023 Toyota Sequoia
The 2023 Toyota Sequoia also offers many options to carry cargo or your passengers. The second row can get either bench seating or captain’s chairs, and both recline to improve comfort. The third row will feature the segment first Sliding Third Row with Adjustable Cargo Shelf system. This allows you to slide the third row over a range of 150 mm. The adjustable cargo shelf allows you to modify the layout of the cargo area to transport different objects and improve versatility.
There will be multiple Toyota Sequoia versions available including a TRD off-road model, as well as the ultra premium Capstone grade. The latter which is also offered on the Toyota Tundra delivers exceptional luxury and a wide range of features.
Speaking of features, the new 2023 Toyota Sequoia will offer advanced safety technologies with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 system which includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. The Toyota Sequoia will also include the new Toyota multimedia system with advanced connected services and impressive voice command features.
