There is something new to chew for 2021 with the Camry. Indeed, Toyota has decided to enhance the offer of its flagship model by adding safety features, improving its style (exterior and interior), as well as adding a new hybrid version to the family.
Let's deal with the latter right away. For 2021, buyers will be able to take advantage of hybrid technology with an XSE model, which is sportier in style. The Camry now has four hybrid variants, the others being the LE, SE Enhanced and XLE liveries.
Speaking of style, let us also note that the SE and XSE models see their facies being retouched to present a more aggressive style. The LE and XLE grinds also benefit from touch-ups here, especially with more prominent air intakes. They also carry 17 and 18 inch rims (respectively) offering new designs. Toyota’s goal is to further differentiate the L-Series models from the S-Series.
Inside, all Camrys get new seats and new instrument panel-level trim. We are talking mainly about woodwork and metallic sconces. For its part, the XSE model offers seats decorated with a herringbone pattern, which adds a touch of class. Ventilated seats are also available on the XLE and XSE models when the 3.5-liter V6 engine sits under the hood. The TRD livery, meanwhile, features blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic, as well as standard heated mirrors.
On the dashboard, depending on the model selected, a new seven or nine inch touch screen will dominate the scene.
Finally, in terms of safety improvements, Toyota is introducing with this Camry the most recent version of its Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) system, version 2.5+. And what does the latter suggest again? A few interesting things, actually.
First, the collision warning system will be even more effective with the addition of recognition of cyclists in daylight, as well as pedestrians at dusk. Also, the system will be able to recognize oncoming traffic, as well as the movement of pedestrians moving in the opposite direction. Consequently, when entering a left turn, the system will intervene if it detects a danger that you cannot see. Adaptive cruise control, along with Lane Keeping Assist, also benefits from improvements.
As you can see, the Camry is more interesting and complete than ever. With more than 20 different models on the menu, you are sure to find something that fits.
